By time a young child is six years old they have seen millions of people killed in games, TV and movies. Millions of people are addicted and happy to pay and be entertained to see humans suffer and kill one another (an addiction). Our internal wounds and ego defenses love to scare and shock us and make us feel unhappy. Mass media and the entertainment industries are only too aware of this, and love cashing in our need to create pain of which we happily pay. Most realize that mass media focuses on the negative which most enjoy the most. But these industries can also help awaken us and some do. They can act as a mirror in which we can see our own insanity.
